This weekend I had a performance at a private dinner. It was a Birthday party and they wanted me to play my own songs and some covers.
I played several slow and up tempo songs and they joined in the singing, danced, laughed and cryed during the sad songs. In the end I had a big surprise for the hostess. Her husband had asked me if he could play the piano and I the crossflute and then we could perform together as a birthdaygift for his wife. I said yes and we met some days before to play the songs. It was really hard not to tell her about our surprise when she called me. I am not good in general at keeping secrets. 🙂 She enjoyed our performance and afterwards I talked to the nice people at the party. Some of them wanted me to play at their partys too.

I´m thinking about changing layout for this website. I want this site to really represent what I´m doing and right now it is not 100 % representative for what I do right now. The main thing I do is to play the piano and sing my own material. I have new pictures coming up and also new videos. I´m going to put the sound and picture togheter from Berns. I have two recordings from Berns: one from the mixer and one from the microphones. I´m going to mix them together to get a good balance with the sound output.

It is the day after my concert at Berns. It´s always the same feeling after a concert,. Emptiness…
Before every concert I practice for so many hours. I have practiced this slowly, fast, the hardest parts, changed the order, played it on different pianos, played it without the vocals, sang the vocals without the music and played it blindfolded. I have done a lot of arranging work and also administrative and commersial work.
I am always nervous before a concert but at the moment I step out on the stage I feel free. It is like magic.
I began the concert by playing ”A brand new day” and then I presented Emma Lindahamre. Emma is a very proficient cellist. She has toured with Brian Wilson from Beach Boys, Christer Sjögren, Charlotte Perelli and other artists. She plays with such a skill and a lot of emotions. Love it!
We played ”It matters now”, that I recorded a musicvideo of that you can see on youtube.
We played and then I told the audience about life and the music, they listened and followed it with big eyes.
I wanted to give them a music and emotional journey and I hope I did.
We played two Sets with songs I have composed and afterwards I felt emotionally exhausted but excited at the same time. I walked around and talked to the audience and then I took three of my friends upstairs to the ”Joe Labero” barn. We sat there a while before we left Berns.
I got to bed late yesterday and woke up late too. The feeling of emptiness came knocking at the door but I´ve felt the feeling before and I´m not afraid of it. I think it has to do with the fact that I put my soul out everytime I play and then it´s out there somewhere in the audience for them to play with like a juggling ball.
But though I have this feeling I also feel a lot of satisfaction over how magic the night was.
Now it´s time to do nothing for tonight, tomorrow is another day when I hope to wake up full of joy.

Yesterday I rehearseled for the last time with the violinist Emma Lindhamre to my concert at Berns on Sunday. We started to play through the songs in the evening. We looked at the scores and changed some of them, we tried to match the breaks and we try to get the right expression. We took a break and then played through it all for the last time.
I also went to Berns to try the grand piano. It was quite good, a yamaha with weighted keys.
I didn´t take pictures since the piano stood in a little nook.
Now I´m going to relax this evening, I´ve played enough for today.

There is so much to do right now that I have less time to play but this weekend I will make it up.
Probably the last scenes have just been recorded to my video.
We were at Arena Satelliten in Sollentuna. Satelliten has a big stage where my brother works as a lighting technician and he helped us with the light. It took quite a while to put up all the lamps!
We got sunstrips (A kind of fluorescent lamp that flashes) and different lights. Mostly we wanted different shades of red. I danced, crawled and sang on the stage very slow to fit with the music.
We already had so many effects that we decided not to use a smoke machine, We filmed some hours while the music came out of the speakers.
It was a great feeling being on the stage alone and that is what the song is about so that´s suitable. 🙂
We finished late in the evening, really tired!
I have´nt seen anything of the clips yet so I´m very curious.

We filmed some musicvideo scnenes yesterday with Janne Schaffer. Anna Hjortsberg filmed and Jens Bock helped us rig up the scene.
Anna came to me in the morning and helped me with make up and hair. I borrowed a dress that would be nice in the church environment. I called Janne and said we would arrive at 12.30. Then I burned a cd and we left a little to late. Janne stood at the stairs of his house and waited as we arrived. He had three different jackets to wear in the video, but we choose a black really cool silk jacket.
After picking him up we went to the church in Viksjö. We arrived there too late of course because we were already late. So the church were closed. We had to call every number we could get to find someone to open.
Finally we got a positive answer from Jens Bock. It would take a while for him to get there so Janne and I left to have lunch while Anna watched all our stuff and waited for Jens.
When we came back to the church they were in the process of rigging. They sat up a quite bright scene and then we started to film.
I had the two songs on a cd and we played along very quiet, just to sync with the music.
We went on for an hour or two, Janne had such a passion in his play and Anna filmed it all.
Then we left the church, got Janne home to Bromma and went to a center nearby. Anna filmed me in an Escalator going up and we had to wait for people to go away.
We also filmed a café were it was remarkable sunlight.
Afterwards we were both really tired. The time was late and we went home.
Now we´re planning for next scene.

Now all the arrangements for the cello are done and I just have to record them. My concert on Berns are closing in.
One of my other projects are the making of a musicvideo with Janne Schaffer. We will go to a church on Monday to record it. We will do two songs. One that will only be filmed and one that is a little bit more like a story.
I had a meeting with Anna Hjortsberg that will record it and we went to two different churches to see wish one would suit the video. One of them was very dark but looks really good, it looks more like an old-fashioned church and it has great painted pictures on the windows. The other church is more modern and it´s very bright and has lamps instead of candles. We choose the modern church because of the light. It would be hard to record with the other light, we would have needed several lamps.
We will do other scenes too, my little brother works on a place where they have spotlights and smoke machines on a stage, so we will probably use it too.
Now the church and the people are booked for Monday and we are ready for a hopefully sunny day.
